Description
Gujarat Finance Minister today stirred a controversy with his comments that poverty is there in Gujarat due to ‘migrant workers from UP, Bihar and other states.’ Nitin Patels’ comments come a day after the Gujarat government was attacked over its poverty figures and the Rs 10.80 poverty baseline. ‘There are more employmnet opportunities in Gujarat. People from all over the country come to Gujarat seeking employment...Migrant workers who come and live here are added to the voter list and given BPL benifits. Workers who come from other states like UP, Bihar, Odisha and other states add to it," Nitin said.
