Description
The Assam State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has promised to indentify and expel all illegal migrants staying in Assam, but promised to protect the Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and the Scheduled Caste people from Bangladesh. The BJP manifesto for Assam, which will be an addition to the party’s manifesto for 2014, stated that the religious minorities (Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs) and the Scheduled Caste people from Bangladesh should not be treated as illegal migrants.
