Description
Ministry of Labor spokesman Theeraphol Khunmuang said allegations pertaining to child labor may have been inaccurate and misleading. For example, he said, an online media agency presented a message saying that the Ministry of Labor has prohibited children aged under 15 years from helping their parents with domestic chores. The Ministry of Labor has already investigated a case and found out that such information was inaccurate as it merely intended to ban the hiring of any children aged under 15 years at all workplaces. The Ministry of Labor insisted that children of all ages can help their parents with domestic chores with respect to the long-established Thai culture.
