Description
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and NGO Tulsanand Bahuudessiya Sanstha jointly organised an awareness camp for labourers at Panchasheel Talkies Chowk recently. The workers were apprised about their rights and liabilities even though they are not part of any organised sector. KD Jadhav, secretary of DLSA, along with VV Bankar, assistant labour commissioner, were present at the programme which was attended by several labourers. RJ Rathi, one of the members of the DLSA, highlighted the provisions of various types of compensations for the labourers. Advocate Kalpana Pathak underlined the provisions of various enactments meant for the welfare and benefits of the labourers including the Minimum Wages Act. Bankar stated in her speech that labourers should ensure that they focus on their rights and take benefits of government scheme.
