Description
The decision was taken on Tuesday, its Chairman Nurul Majid Mahmud said. About 27 Bangladeshi labourers involved in Singapore’s construction sector were arrested between November and December on charges of plotting to overthrow the Bangladesh government through armed jihad, authorities had said after making the arrests. They were then deported to Bangladesh. In May, four more were arrested and found guilty of financing terrorism. The Parliament Secretariat in a media statement said the government would work to strengthen the labour demand and encourage nations to employ more Bangladeshi labourers.
