Indian Staffing Federation (ISF), an apex body for flexi staffing industry in India, today organized its 10th National Employment Conference themed on ‘Innovation at Work’. The conference representing the organized employment is designed in line with Ministry of Labour and Employment’s progressive gesture to invite corporates and Employment industry to explore better opportunities in Maharashtra. Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of Maharashtra graced the occasion ensuring a positive collaboration from Maharashtra government to make flexi staffing more conducive and make Maharashtra more investment friendly. Maharashtra dominates the formal employment landscape with 7.28 million organised workforce and topping the chart of Indian states with 0.36 million flexi workforce employed so far. It has a share of 17.3% in national flexi staff with an overall growth rate of 16.2% pa in 2015 -18. In sync with this contribution, the state government is hopeful of sectorial contribution from Logistics, Transport, Communication, BFSI, IT/ITES and Ecommerce and seeking more investments thereupon. Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, Minister of Labour and Employment, Government of Maharashtra, said, “It is the first of its kind initiative by the government to discuss with key staffing firms, CEO’s of corporates and other key stakeholders to attract investments and better employment opportunities. We are looking at it as a mutual win- win situation for the state as well as for the industry at large with Maharashtra already showing immense progress in hiring organised flexi workers in India. We are hopeful that ISF will play a crucial role in this journey and look forward to a fruitful discussion at the CEOs’ meet later today”. In making it a strong partnership, Rituparna Chakraborty, President, Indian Staffing Federation, said, “To take flexi staffing to newer heights, ISF is committed towards building strong partnerships with different state governments. This $4.5 billion worth Indian staffing industry has become one of the top contributors to the Indian economy in the form of social security and tax compliances. As per our recent report on ‘Sectoral and State Analysis Indian Flexi Staffing Industry Research 2016’, Maharashtra has already shown a positive growth and through this conference we intend to bring industry majors under one roof and initiate a discussion on the shared vision to make Maharashtra a better place to do business and generate organised employment.” Suchita Dutta, Executive Director, Indian Staffing Federation, said, “The federation has been successful in demonstrating the need for formalisation of flexi jobs, enhancing social security measures to reach the job seekers and simplifying labour laws in the country. With government focussing to promote ‘Made in Maharashtra’, ISF will work together with ministry to prepare a conducive contract labor environment for the job seekers of Maharashtra.”
