Description
Two victims of human trafficking have gone "missing without a trace" from the South West. Tang Chien Dang and Thang Vu Tan have not been seen for a month after being placed into care by social services. Both were identified as 'gardeners' during a people trafficking investigation, named Operation Astoria. The Southwest Regional Organised Crime Unit, known as Zephyr, has issued an appeal for witnesses in relation to the safeguarding of the two Vietnamese boys. They were kept in appalling conditions according to a report on court proceedings which saw six defendants convicted of their role in the conspiracies to produce millions of pounds worth of Cannabis across the South West.
